The story is all over google news but it's pretty much just the CEO talking about how Verizon has better customer service and they don't think their users will switch.

But with the iPhone's high price tag the people who do switch are going to be the type of customers that phone companies love- people with money. They'll also have more expensize service plans because of the broadband useage. If I was a phone company other then AT&T I'd be trying to come up with something to compete with it.

You are correct. I am a Verizon customer and I was just checking out the ATT plans. Expensive. Everything is a la carte, ie. data, web, enhanced vm, international long distance. I'm really disappointed that they made an exclusive deal with ATT. If Verizon offered it I wouldn't hesitate. I think Apple has shot themselves in the foot on this one. I hope it doesn't go the same way their last PDA did.
