I have a 3g iphone that was jailbroken when I got it and was going great.
I installed the recent 3.0 update and now I can't get past the first screen. It says I require a simcard. I live in Korea (where they don't sell iphones) and i had bought the iphone in the usa, jailbroken.
I only wish to use it as an ipod (no phone) which I understand is airplane mode.
    Any ideas?

Can iphone start without a SIM card? I didn't know that. May be you are going through a wrong way. I never heard of iphone started without a SIM card. Sorry, I might be wrong. I don't know actually. I need to try with my one first.

Not Optimistic But There Is An Opportunity There

In the United States, we are currently chained to AT&T for our service provider. I have not heard of anyone being able to run their iPhone without a SIM card. However, if you ever do succeed, there are a LOT of people in the United States that would be very interested in that since it would be a path to getting rid of AT&T service.
