here is how to add your own ringtones to your phone

For simplicity lets say you want to first 28 seconds of a song.

    From within iTunes

    1. Right click on the song and choose Get Info.
    2. go to the options tab and check the "Start" and "Stop" times for the song. i.e. "0:00" and "0:28"
    3. Now right click and "convert to AAC" (it will create a 28 second AAC file)
    4. Select the 28 second version and right click and select "Show in Explorer/Finder"
    5. Move this file to another folder
    6. you can now delete the item from the itunes list (since the original file is moved it will just delete the entry in iTunes
    7. rename the file with a .m4r extension
    8. Drag that file into itunes. it will automatically put it in the Ringtone playlist
    9. Then just sync - and the ringtone will show up as a custom tone

I just have taken a look to the Audiko.net. Their features are impressive. It's simple. Upload, choose the best fragmented and get the ringtone. Thank you for the information.

I've always preferred to manage my ipods manually without syncing. Is there any way to get these ringtones on my iPhone without syncing?
