If the phone reads your old sim card you can just pop in the old sim card and go to the phonebook and copy all your contacts from sim card to phone.

theres some application too on itunes with which you can transfer your phonebook.
i dont exactly remember the name.
you can search for it under the utilities sections in itunes.

Both of the options listed above should work just fine. But I would go with the sim card from the previous phone, because you should have been able to transfer that sim for use with the iPhone.

I think you have got the best advice that could be given. It was simple for us we just used our old sim card and 1-2-3 it was done.

Good Luck, I hope it works for you!

If the size of phone book is not very large, then its efficient to simply copy the contacts to the sim and then save them to the phone.
