But do Apple Geniuses keep a record of what they have told you? Basically I have been having intermitent ear speaker problems with my iphone 4. A hard reset cured it twice but this time it is gone for good. I went in to the genius bar and saw a guy there and because I had a 3rd party cover on, dropped and broken by my kid AFTER the speaker issue had started, he said the warranty was void but half suggested if I got an apple back and fitted it and re booked there was maybe something they could do... Now I am in no way suggesting that he was trying to make me look foolish on return, but do they put a record against your imei or anything after you have visited the genius bar? Could this actually bedone with little to no problem??
Never mind, I had a try at repeatedly playing with my headphone jack to no avail, I then decided to go for broke and stuck the scredriver that I used to change the back cover down into the jack socket had a jiggle about and bob's your uncle it all works again.
